Haze captures the ephemeral beauty of hand-crafted Japanese candles, where each flame tells a story of transience and natural artistry. This curated gift set features four distinctive warosoku candles, each infused with botanical pigments and sacred essences that honor centuries of Japanese tradition.
Crafted using the ancient Tegake-seiho technique, where wax is meticulously layered by skilled artisans in Kawagoe, every candle is made from pure plant-based materials—from wick to wax to dye. The haze plant, fruit of the Japanese wax tree, creates a powerful, clean-burning flame that produces minimal soot and fills your space with warmth.
Each candle draws its color from revered botanicals: the Murasaki plant's imperial red, Common Madder's deep orange, Pagodatree buds' golden yellow, and green tea's subtle olive tones. Two specialty candles—Anicca with Indian incense for spiritual cleansing and Sage with sacred Native American herbs—deepen the ritual experience.
With approximately 60 minutes of burn time per candle and a handcrafted wooden stand included, this set invites you to embrace wabi-sabi philosophy: finding profound beauty in the impermanent. A meditation on light, fragrance, and the quiet elegance of disappearance.

ANICCA
Containing Indian incense in its wax, this candle cleanses areas for spatial tranquility. It is said that the lacquered incense originated from Indian ascetics applying the incense on their bodies to remove impurities. Rubbing one’s hands above the flame from this candle produces a similar experience.
SAGE
This Warosoku candle contains sacred herbs. These herbs have been used by Native American Indians in rituals and prayers since ancient times. The evaporated wax cleanses and purifies.
