Join us for our Macrame Plant Hanger Class with Megan Burrows of MCB Designs at the Be Just Classroom in Belmont. Participants will learn several macrame knots through demonstrations and hands-on practice facilitated by Megan. All necessary materials will be provided to create a beautiful and unique macrame hanger. To complete the pictured look, class participants will then have the opportunity to purchase a 12cm plant and pot of their choice at an exclusive discount on the day of the class. This class is appropriate for all skill levels! Participants should expect to stand for the duration of class, however stools will be offered for those who need them.
About the instructor:
Megan Burrows originally learned the art of macrame from her grandmother, who passed down her love of arts and crafting. After a few years distanced from the practice, she began macrame again at the start of quarantine as she says "to therapeutically unwind and clear her mind" from the new and evolving stressors that accompanied the pandemic. She places an emphasis on sourcing her materials from eco-friendly and sustainable businesses with great intentionality. Each fiber, wooden dowel or branch, and bead is carefully considered for each unique macrame piece.
From Megan:
"It’s clear to anyone that knows me how much I love plants and nature but also unique and bold interior design. Patterns, textures, colors come together with our natural world to tell a story of each person’s home and garden. What better way to enhance that aesthetic than with macrame? Each fiber woven and knotted together tells a narrative of that person, that home, that plant. I look forward to getting all knotty with each of you at the Macrame Plant Hanger Workshop!"
